Specially Designated Nationals Automatic Search Option
Overview

TitleSCAN Web provides fully automatic searching of the most current Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List published by the United States Treasury Department. Examiners and searchers do not have to do anything special for this to happen.  Whenever a name is searched in the General Index or in an Order Search, TitleSCAN Web automatically searches the latest SDN List behind the scenes.

If an SDN match is found, a special Alert message is shown, and the name found is highlighted in RED in the search results. When that name is clicked, a popup window is displayed showing the full Treasury Department information on the SDN name including addresses, AKA's, and other information. If desired, this information can be printed and retained. Search printouts also highlight the SDN match, and all report printouts show that the SDN List has been searched whether or not a match is found along with the Treasury Department "Publish Date" of the SDN data.

The SDN Data Service Subscription

This Specially Designated Nationals feature is a standard component of TitleSCAN Web and, as such, is provided at no charge to all TitleSCAN Web customers with TitleSCAN Web Software Support Agreements.  If you activate the SDN feature, you will need to subscribe to the TitleSCAN SDN Data Service provided by TitleSCAN Systems, which costs $39 per month for the first county and $10 per month for each additional county. Of course, this is an optional service, and you do not need to activate the SDN feature if you do not wish to do so.

The TitleSCAN SDN Data Service provides your TitleSCAN Web server with the latest Treasury Department SDN data in a form that can be posted to your General Index.  Each day, your TitleSCAN Web server automatically contacts one of three TitleSCAN Systems servers to obtain the latest SDN data.  If new data is available, your server downloads it from the TitleSCAN Systems server and posts it to your General Index, replacing entirely any existing SDN data.

TitleSCAN Systems staff members manage this process using software that will identify any subscriber server that fails to check in daily.  If this occurs, a support incident is created, and the subscriber company is contacted to determine why their server has not checked in as scheduled.  TitleSCAN Systems staff members also ensure that the latest Treasury Department data is downloaded to the TitleSCAN Systems servers, processed for posting, and checked for improperly formatted data and other problems.

From your standpoint, this entire process is automatic with no labor required on your end whatsoever.
