TitleSCAN Web - Plant
Description

TitleSCAN Web - Plant is a title search and document imaging software product that you install on a server within your company.  It is web-browser based eliminating the need to install any software on workstations.  Widely-used throughout the title industry in direct and agency operations of all sizes, it is scalable from one county to many and from a few simultaneous users to a large number that may be geographically distributed over a wide area.  It features tightly integrated document imaging eliminating the need to access film, fiche, or other imaging systems, and it provides the title examiner with a responsive, rich, and extremely efficient user interface that is easy to learn and easy to use.

TitleSCAN Web - Plant enables you to perform property searches, General Index (name) searches, image searches, and searches of current and prior title orders (files) which are automatic searches of all of the properties and names involved in a title order.  Orders can be maintained on-line indefinitely and can be retrieved and used as starters (priors) when a new order is received for the same, overlapping, or related property.

If document images are available, these are stored on-line and you can view them with the click of a button during a title search.  Images can be viewed, printed, emailed, or saved, and title search reports can be produced as PDF's suitable for filing or emailing.   The document image features of TitleSCAN Web - Plant are identical to those in TitleSCAN Web - Image, which is intended for sites that only require document imaging.

New take-off (or backplant) data is keyed from images, if those are available on a timely basis, or from film, fiche, or paper.  Multiple data entry operators can key data simultaneously while the system is in full operation.

TitleSCAN Web - Plant is highly scalable and can be used in smaller title companies or as an enterprise-wide solution with large numbers of simultaneous users accessing multiple-county title data.  Title plant and image databases can range in size from megabytes to terrabytes with rapid and highly responsive retrieval.

  • Incorporates the latest and most advanced features in web-browser based software including the use of AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and XML) to seamlessly communicate between the client workstation and server with no browser page refreshes.
  • Thin-client architecture with no software required on client workstations other than Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.
  • All data exchanged between server and client workstations sent and received as industry-standard XML.
  • All major features of TitleSCAN Web exposed as Web Services with the optional Direct Access Option, which enables other software to interface or link with TitleSCAN Web.

Technical Requirements
  • Windows 2000 server or later running IIS 5.0 or later with the .NET 2.0 Framework.
  • Dedicated server not required for most sites unless a large number of simultaneous users are to be supported.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Express or SQL Server.
  • Disk space required dependent upon quantity to be stored.  For title plant data, the storage requirements are not substantial by modern standards although they may run in the several gigabyte range.  We can discuss this with you.  For image data, a general rule of thumb is that 12,000 8.5 inch by 11 inch pages scanned at 200 dpi will require one gigabyte of storage.  Larger pages, pages scanned at higher resolutions, or pages that have larger printed areas will require more space per page.
  • Windows XP or Vista or later client workstations.
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0 or later on client workstations.
  • All monitor sizes are supported although a practical minimum is a 17-inch monitor running at 1024 by 768.  A 19-inch or greater monitor running at 1280 by 1024 is recommended.  Note that the cost difference between a 17-inch monitor and a 19-inch monitor is approximately $50 at this time.
